Northern Sydney / Central Coast AHS
Formed from the merger of the Northern Sydney AHS and Central Coast AHS. Northern Sydney / Central Coast AHS extends from Sydney Harbour to the northern reaches of the Central Coast.  The region includes: The Central Coast (including much of the Hawkesbury River), Sydney's Northern Beaches , Hornsby, Ku-Ring-Gai, Ryde  and Sydney's North Shore.

Gosford is the administrative hub.

South Eastern Sydney / Illawarra AHS
Formed from the merger of the South Eastern Sydney AHS and Illawarra AHS.  South Eastern Sydney / Illawarra AHS extends from Sydney Harbour in the north to Ulladulla in the south.  The region includes: Bondi, Botany, Darlinghurst, Hurstville, Kiama, Kogarah, Randwick, Rockdale, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Sutherland, Waverley, Wollongong, Woollahra and part of City of Sydney. Lord Howe Island is also included.

Wollongong is the administrative hub.

Sydney South West AHS
Formed from the merger of the Central Sydney AHS and South Western Sydney AHS .  Sydney South West AHS looks after all public hospitals and healthcare facilities in central and south western Sydney from Balmain to Bowral. The region includes: Balmain, Bankstown, Bowral, Camden, Campbelltown, Canterbury, Concord, Fairfield, Liverpool and Rozelle .

Liverpool is the administrative hub.

Sydney West AHS
Formed from a merger between the Western Sydney AHS and the Wentworth AHS.  The region includes:- Auburn, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Cumberland, Lithgow, Mt. Druitt, Penrith, Portland, Lithgow and Westmead.
 
Penrith is the administrative hub.

Greater Southern AHS
Formed from a merger between the Greater Murray Health AHS and the Southern AHS. The Greater Southern AHS covers 166,000 sq km and has a population of approximately 468,000 persons.  The region includes:- Albury, Bega Valley, Berrigan, Bland, Bombala, Boorowa, Carrathool, Conargo, Coolamon, Cooma Monaro, Cootamundra, Corowa, Deniliquin, Eurobodalla, Greater Argyle, Greater Hume, Griffith, Gundagai, Harden, Hay, Jerilderie, Junee, Leeton, Lockhart, Murray, Murrumbidgee, Narrandera, Palerang, Queanbeyan Snowy River, Temora, Tumbarumba, Tumut, Upper Lachlan, Urana, Yass Valley, Young, Wagga Wagga. (For planning purposes the Area is divided into twelve Health Planning Divisions.)
 
Queanbeyan is the administrative hub.

Greater Western AHS
Formed from a merger between Far West AHS, Macquarie AHS and Mid Western AHS (with the exception of Greater Lithgow LGA). Greater Western Area Health Service covers 60% of NSW stretching from Bathurst to Broken Hill.  The region includes:- Barradine, Bathurst, Bourke, Broken Hill. Cobar, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Ivanhoe, Lake Cargellico, Lightning Ridge, Mudhee, Naromine, Tibooburra, Walgett, Wentworth and White Cliffs.

Dubbo is the administrative hub.

Hunter/New England AHS
Formed from a merger between Hunter AHS, New England AHS and the Lower Mid North Coast local government areas of Gloucester, Greater Taree City and Great Lakes.  Hunter/New England AHS extends from Tenterfield in the north to Moriset in the south. The region includes:- Armidale, Boggabri, Cessnock, Glen Innes, Gloucester, Gunnedah, Inverell, Maitland, Moree, Moriset, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Scone, Tamworth, Tenterfield and Wee Waa.

Newcastle is the administrative hub. (There is also a regional office in Tamworth)

North Coast AHS
Formed from a merger between Northern Rivers AHS and Mid North Coast  AHS (except for Greater Taree, Great Lakes and Gloucester LGAs. The region includes:- Ballina, Bellingen, Byron Bay, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Grafton, Kyogle, Lismore, Nimbin, Maclean, Macleay, Macksville, Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah, Port Macquarie (under service agreement), Tweed Heads, Urbenville, and Wauchope.

Lismore is the administrative hub.
